  Registered Member #36 Joined: Fri Mar 02 2007, 12:55PMPosts: 39 | i took my 1975 can am 175 for a 25 mile test ride last monday.a quick 10 miles to check it out and back to the truck to evaluate.bars too wide,36 in. ,geared too high ,would'nt pull 6th gear unless you are doin at least 55 mph,seat too low, or knees too worn out to stand up a lot!adjusted clutch and set idle and air screw,need bark busters. another 15 miles and ridin more aggresssive now ,ok thats better.take out more mesquite limbs and wishin i had bark busters.got back to truck and saw oil all over rear rim, yep blowed out both rear shocks.i been workin on the bike all week and now ready to head for mountains to futher test can am.will keep posts on progress. how did we used to ride these things? | Registered Member #36 Joined: Fri Mar 02 2007, 12:55PMPosts: 39 | test rode old can am monday after regearing and raising fork spring weight .everything pretty good now.had to install air fittings in the tops.after 25 miles ,some seal leaks at rear shocks.got my old ico speedo/odo mounted and ico computer mounted.all i need now is a weld job on those slippery footpegs!
